Vampires, Hearts, and Other Dead Things

A contemporary novel that is beautiful in its descriptions and themes, but unfortunately a bit irritating in its delivery. While it did not meet my expectations as a reader, it definitely gave me a chance to flex my writer muscles–in that I knew exactly what I would have done differently if I had been writing this story.

Another good book to curl up with as the winter nights roll by… A story of persistence, of courage and wit, and finding agency and strength even in the face of impossible odds. Oh, and a lot of awesome feminine power!

Whether you’re fond of the epic TV series or a dedicated fan of the original books, “A Song of Ice and Fire” is a highly addictive series full of colorful characters and situations that all starts right here with “A Game of Thrones.” Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys high fantasy with a bit of political intrigue scattered throughout.

Summerlong
